ROCKRIDGE, THE MONKEE MOUNTAIN'S PRIMARY CITY

MAIN STREET
Rockridge was far from being finished prior to being razed
Rockridge was built on my bar for lack of room elsewhere
All of the large brick colored structures were scratch built
Rubber molds were created using walls from Magnuson kits
Using plaster of paris, walls were created, cut and glued together
The walls were then spray painted with Krylon red primer
Thinned Floquil concrete paint was applied to simulate the brick's mortar
All window trim were hand painted. Clear plastic and paper shades were added
The walls were then brushed with a coat of black india ink & alcohol
The concrete streets were made using Durham Water Putty
Durham Water Putty is very slow drying allowing plenty of time to work the streets
The sidewalks were made similar to how real sidewalks are made
1/8" thick wood forms were temporarily tacked onto the street
Thinned plaster of Paris was then poured into the sidewalk molds
Expansion joint lines were scribed in with a dull Xacto knife
All concrete items were then painted using Floquil Concrete paint
The streets were weathered with black chalk dust
The streets were sprayed with Dullcote to seal chalk into position

SASSAN VINEGAR PLANT
The Sassan Vinegar Plant was a wood kit that I purchased
The unfinished room was designed into the kit
It came with plaster vats that had to be painted and decaled
Also included was an old wooden vinegar tanker you had to build

KING MIDAS FLOUR MILL
The grain elevator tubes were made using PCV piping
The pump house on top was scratch built using wood clapboard siding
The Port Grain Company (Fig 3) was replaced later with a Walthers kit
A Walthers background flour mill (Fig 4) was used due to lack of space
