SPRING 1993 - DURANGO COLORADO

This is our 1993 Heritage Softail Classic
We purchased it new in Oct. 1992 and decided in spring of 1993 to take it on vacation to Durango Colorado
We didn't plan on the snow not being gone in the Colorado mountains

MARCH 1994 - DAYTONA BIKE WEEK

Pam & I are heading to Florida for Daytona Bike week with Larry & Kim Piercy, Gary & Michelle Fuch
It decided to snow in Missouri the same day we left for Daytona
We finally got out of the snow when we hit Chattanooga Tennessee

SPRING 1994 - COLORADO SPRINGS

Here we are visiting our daughter, Debbie and our 18 month old granddaughter Kayla Marie in Colorado Springs

AUGUST 1994 - STURGIS SOUTH DAKOTA

This was our first trip to Sturgis. We went with Larry Piercy and some of our HOG members. I paid $150 for a spot in a pasture to pitch our tent. I purchased a Corbin seat while in Stugis, it is so much more comfortable than the stock Harley seat
Sturgis is a great place to buy Harley accessories. Pam bought several chances on a new Harley exactly like the one we have. Needless to say we didn't win it. We also toured Devils Tower and Mount Rushmore while we were there

JANUARY 1995 - PAINTING THE BEAST

I bought a 5 gallon tank, a new rear fender, 2 blue Harley Davidson decals from St Joe Harley
Larry Piercy painted the new tank halves, my original fenders and applied the decals for me
The colors were 1994 Chevrolet Metallic Raspberry & 1994 Buick Fawn with 1994 Ford blue for the trim

MARCH 1995 - DAYTONA BIKE WEEK

Rick & Pam headed to Florida Bike Week in Daytona with Larry & Kim Piercy. Larry built a cool trailer using an tractor trailer wind deflector. Larry is quite talented. It was a fantastic vacation. We visited St Augustine, an Alligator Farm, Universal Studios, a tropical garden and NASA Space Center

SUMMER 1996 - TOUR OF ARIZONA

Another trip with Larry & Kim Piercy
This time we towed the bikes to Phoenix Arizona. We then rode from Phoenix to Lake Havasu Nevada to the the London Bridge, we gambled at an Indian casino, then rode a short distance into California for a brief visit. From there, we rode from the top of Arizona clear down into Mexico for a short visit and then back to Phoenix to attend a HOG rally. That was a lot of riding but a lot of fun

SPRING 1997 - KAYLA'S FIRST MOTORCYCLE RIDE

August 1997 - STURGIS SOUTH DAKOTA RALLY

Here I am again in Sturgis for the 1997 Sturgis Rally. I have added some chrome items such as a KuryAkyn air breather, chromed the forks, little chrome "skulls", a 5 gallon tank, Tombstone tail light, Python II mufflers & a high performance electronic ignition
With over 23,000 miles on it, it's been a good bike!

FEBRUARY 1999 - THE SPOILED PAINT

In February 1999, the paint job was not looking so good because of gasoline leaking out of the right gas cap. The gasoline caused the paint to bubble a little. I had Max Stephens strip the tank halves and repaint her for me with the same colors but this time using special epoxy based paints
It cost me $500 to have the tanks repainted.
The photos below show it looking good as before

JANUARY 2000 - WASTED MONEY

Skull covers were purchased to cover my Tombstone tail light & turning signals
I only kept the skull covers on for a short while. I reverted back to the plain Tombstone tail light and stock signal lenses

AUGUST 2000 - STURGIS RALLY

I had a Pink Panther "Pinky" cartoon hand painted on rear fender when I went to the Sturgis Rally in August 2000

MARCH 2002 - DAYTONA BIKERFEST

I had Pink Panther "Pinky" cartoons hand painted on each side of the front fender when I went to Daytona Biketoberfest in 2002

MARCH 2007 - DISASTER FOUND AT HOME

Disaster was found in March 2007. After not riding the Harley for 2 years, I discovered that the gas tank fuel valve had slowly leaked gasoline causing extreme paint damage to the underside of the left fuel tank

In March 2007, the tank halves were taken to Max Stephens to have the damaged tanks repainted
By November 2007, after waiting 7 months time, Max had not started to repaint the tanks so I decided to repaint & modernize the bike myself

DECEMBER 2007 - REPAINTING IT MYSELF

December 23, 2007
To sportorize the bike, I removed the factory saddlebags & backrest
I replaced the original Heritage front fender with a new Harley Fatboy front fender
A new single seat is on order from St Joseph Harley Davidson and will be added in January 2008
By carefully masking the cartoon, I managed to salvage the Pink Panther cartoon on the rear fender
Using spray cans of automotive paint, I repainted the motorcycle tank and fenders myself

JANUARY 20, 2008 - PAINT JOB IS COMPLETE

My new paint job and the new seat addition is complete

JUNE 19, 2012 - BUFF & WAX JOB

Gary Stroud came over and helped me buff out and and wax the new paint job
I don't like the new single seat so I put the Corbin seat back on. More wasted money
