The Thirs-T was a subsidiary of A & W Root Beer
It featured car hop service and their Broasted Chicken was the best in town
We lost a great place to eat when Thirs-t closed
Another restaurant opened later at this location but didn't last long
Hill Side Motors, an auto sales company followed

In 1889, People's Furniture opened on the southeast corner of King Hill Avenue & Missouri Avenue
The family-owned furniture store was opened by F.R. Kimber and F.E. Vancil in South St. Joseph
Longtime employee John Furlong purchased the business from Mr. Kimber and Mr. Vancil in 1949
In 1971, Mr. Furlong moved the store to 3603 Frederick Avenue
People's Furniture closed in 2014
In the mid 1970's, the Paradise Donut Shop was here
The 4 Aces BBQ shared the same building with Paradise Donuts
The donut shop, owned by Jan Lloyd, closed around 1995
